Liz Seru and John Truex transform scrap metal, wood and stone into enduring objects for the home. Driven by the idea of making “something out of nothing,” we source materials from the waste stream wherever possible - brake rotors from car wheels for cast iron; bronze alloyed from salvaged copper electrical wire. Through these material experiments and a quiet, thoughtful design language, we hope to create meaningful pieces that patina over time, improving with age and use, and contributing to the rich texture of a living home.

Furniture and hearth pieces from the current catalog are available to order. Cast-iron skillets and cookware are made under the studio's sister label, Borough Furnace. The studio also takes private commissions and collaborates with interior designers, architects, and companies on bespoke and custom work. Inquiries welcome at liz@serutruex.com.
