About Us + Contact

The workshop of Liz Seru and John Truex moves fluidly between craft, design, and art - resolving furniture, lighting, hearth, and objects for the home at the at the bench rather than on the page. Works are crafted from enduring materials, and with a surface treatment that suggests a lifelong relationship with their owners, evidence of use in the slow oxidization of bronze, the patina that builds on a soapstone tabletop from touch. Each piece is made to stand on its own, and also to blend into the rich texture of a living home.

Furniture and hearth pieces from the current catalog are available to order. Cast-iron skillets and cookware are made under the studio's sister label, Borough Furnace. The studio also takes private commissions and collaborates with interior designers, architects, and companies on bespoke and custom work. Inquiries welcome at liz@boroughfurnace.com.
